"Marijuana Extraction Fires".

With the legalization of medical and /or recreational marijuana throughout the country, Marijuana extraction fires and explosion will likely increase. This is partly due to the easy access of marijuana and the other items needed to make hash oil. Butane Hash Oil (BHO) extraction continues to be popular as people discover new ways to get and obtain more concentrated hash oil.

Our presenter is Jeff Hoyt of the Michigan State Police. This presentation is designed to provide a basic understanding to the investigator, both from the public and private sectors, of what occurs during butane hash oil extractions, why the fires happen during the extraction process, and components that can be found in the fire debris to help make the case of a BHO related fire.
